The total length of the GeoTrek is about 135 MILES and it will be completed over a 12-day period. After each hiking day a rest day will be taken during which pictures and a description of the previous day's hike will be posted on the hike-day links shown below so that you can keep track of the progress.

Today's Geology students represent the future of our profession and, with the cost of education going increasingly higher, they need our help to finish their degrees in a timely fashion. This event occurs only once every two years, so since Gene won't be pestering you for contributions next year, you can afford to be extra generous this year. If you wish to encourage Gene and Sue along on the hike by making a contribution to the COAST GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY GEOLOGY STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND, please e-mail your pledge of support to Gene Fritsche at: a.eugene.fritsche@csun.edu . After Gene and Sue have completed the GeoTrek, Gene will contact you for your contribution. Checks should be made out to: COAST GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY, with "Geology Student Scholarships" on the memo line. Also encourage your employer to support the Scholarship Fund, especially if they provide matching funds.
